Althouse and Meade is a small biological and environmental consulting firm on California’s Central Coast, looking to fill a senior level management position. You will work alongside our two current Principal Biologists to mentor staff biologists, oversee/ facilitate/manage projects, write proposals, conduct field work and write/edit/review reports. You will join a highly skilled team of scientists, biologists, GIS analysts, data managers, technicians, and administrative personnel. Job Summary

Excellent knowledge of and experience with plant and wildlife species of California.

Professional writing experience and communication skills.

Work collaboratively in a team environment. Able to provide leadership and direction on projects and staff. Ability and desire to mentor staff.

Strong verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information and approaches to project managers, clients, agencies, and non-technical staff in a clear manner orally and in writing. Publish research and present findings at meetings.

A minimum of ten years of experience in environmental consulting in the California market with at least eight years of post-graduate professional experience in biology with an emphasis on botany and/or zoology. Experience preparing technical reports, including biological sections for CEQA/NEPA and FESA/CESA documents.

Contract compliance. Plan, organize, supervise, and participate in contract compliance and biological requirements for projects.

Project Management. Coordinate and track assignments, scopes, schedules, budgets and deliverables.

Ph.D. degree in biology, botany, zoology, ecology, wildlife biology or a related discipline from a recognized university.
